If you meet a nice man on the train and
he later becomes your husband, was that just a coincidence?
If you meet a nice woman at the tennis club
and she later becomes your wife, was that just luck?
It seems that some "coincidences"
just had to happen, as if they were planned by someone in
advance.
Take the case of Richard.
He broke his right leg in a skiing accident
and had to spend a few nights in hospital.
At the hospital, he met a young woman called
Alice who had also broken her leg in a skiing accident.
They enjoyed chatting for a while and found
that they had a lot in common, but neither of them was in
the mood to start a relationship.
However, a few weeks later, they met in
the street and went for a coffee together.
After that, they went out for dinner together
and now, a year later, they are married.
Or what about Wendy, who worked as a flight
attendant for British Airways?
She enjoyed chatting to Dave, one of the
passengers on a flight to New York and, two weeks later,
was invited to attend a wedding.
At the wedding, she started talking to somebody
who seemed familiar and, after a few minutes, they realized
that they had met and talked on the plane two weeks previously.
They started dating and, three months later,
they got married.
A week after that, her plane crashed and
she was killed.
