The cult attracted thousands of young followers who believed that the world would end on November 14, 1993. Marina and her followers gathered in Kiev on that day and, when nothing happened, they rioted, breaking into the cathedral and destroying important religious things. The police arrested 570 people and only realized that they had caught "The Living God" when people started kissing her feet. End of the world cults are not a new idea. It is written that before the year 1,000 began, thousands of people in Europe gathered in churches to wait for the arrival of Jesus Christ. Feeling a little silly, most of them went home the next day.
